The LSU Tigers came into the season as the winners of 10 games in 2018, but they went on to have an amazing 2019. In LSU’s third full season under Ed Orgeron, the Tigers began with an easy game against Georgia Southern. LSU won, 55-3, as QB Joe Burrow began what would be a stellar season. He, RB Clyde Edwards-Helaire, and WR Ja’Marr Chase looked amazing on September 21, as LSU won, 66-38, at Vanderbilt.
The Tigers took down Alabama on November 9 and then won three more games, as they went on to the SEC Championship Game. LSU won, 37-10, against Georgia to win the SEC Championship. Then, the Tigers won the Peach Bowl CFP Semifinal, 63-28, against Oklahoma. In the CFP National Championship against Clemson, LSU won, 42-25, to complete an amazing 15-0 perfect season.
North Dakota State

- Bowl Game – FCS Championship Game (28-20 win) vs. James Madison
- Key Matchup – 23-16 victory over No. 3 South Dakota State on October 26, 2019
In his first season as the North Dakota State Bison’s head coach, Matt Entz kept the momentum going for North Dakota State. As the two-time defending FCS champion, the Bison played Butler to start the season. Once again, North Dakota State could not be stopped. This time it was QB Trey Lance leading the squad, as the Bison scored at least 38 points in its first three games. Then on October 26, North Dakota State took down No. 3 South Dakota State, 23-16.
In the FCS Champion Semifinals, North Dakota State dominated Montana State, 42-14. Then in the FCS Championship Game, North Dakota State played familiar foe James Madison. The Bison won, 28-20, behind 166 rushing yards and a touchdown from Trey Lance. With the title win, North Dakota State finished a perfect 16-0, their second undefeated season in a row.
